The Alphonse Atoll group, situated in the Seychelles outer islands, is renowned for its unspoiled beauty and is a nature enthusiast’s dream destination. Comprising of Alphonse, St. François, and Bijoutier, these islands boast stunning white sandy beaches bordering lush natural forests and the remains of old commercial coconut plantations. This truly is an unspoiled tropical paradise and anglers get to fish and explore one of the most protected fisheries in the remote regions of the Indian Ocean.

Accommodation on Alphonse comprises 22 Beach Bungalows, five 1-bedroom Beach Villas and two spacious 4-bedroom Beach Retreats.  This is an island paradise and you are provided with accommodation to match.

Breath-taking ocean views from the privacy of your veranda with the pristine white beaches only meters away. Travelling around the island and between your accommodation to the main lodge area by bicycle is an added attraction.

A central dining and bar area lets you socialise alongside the sparkling pool and shoreline. Sustainability is key to their management practices and freshly caught fish along with its own fresh produce provides the very best Creole cuisine.

GETTING THERE 

• Four and a half hour flight from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha which all serve as a connecting hub for regular international fights from Europe, the United States, Africa and Asia.
• There are direct flights to the Seychelles from Paris, Bombay, Nairobi, Mauritius, Antananarivo, Johannesburg, Addis Ababa, Reunion, Colombo, Dar-Es-Salaam and Frankfurt.
• Alphonse Island is an hour’s flight from Mahé, the main island of the Seychelles.
• Scheduled flights depart and return to Mahé each Saturday and selected Wednesdays.
• Scheduled Flights depart from the IDC Hangar, Pointe Larue, Mahé.
• Flight times are subject to change. Please make sure you confirm your correct flight times with FlyFish Online or the Alphonse reservations team.
• Alphonse Island is also accessible through private charter fights.
• Guests are required to fly into Mahé at least four hours prior to departure.
• The Alphonse Island reservations team will assist with all return fight reservations between Mahé and Alphonse once you have made your booking

Check-in luggage is restricted to 15 kg [33 pounds].
Carry-on luggage is restricted to 5 kg [12 pounds].

The vast expanse of flats, spanning ten thousand acres, offers an easy-wading experience and unparalleled sight-fishing opportunities. The atolls are widely recognized as one of the best saltwater fly-fishing locations on the planet, boasting a rich and varied ecosystem that includes Bonefish, three types of Triggerfish, Barracuda, snapper, grouper, Indo-Pacific Permit, parrotfish, eight species of trevally (including the legendary Giant Trevally), and the magnificent Milkfish. If it’s Sailfish, Wahoo or Tuna you are after, there are 3 offshore vessels to make this happen.

You will be assisted by a team of true professionals to ensure the ultimate fishing experience.

With such diverse marine life, anglers can target multiple species during their stay. To ensure excellence and sustainability, the St. François fishery only accommodates up to twelve fly anglers at a time, providing an exclusive and exceptional fishing experience.

Aside from the phenomenal fishing, there are numerous other activities- from diving to blue water charters and reef safaris and birdwatching- snorkelling, eco-walks, swimming, hiking, paddle boards, kayaking, and bicycling making Alphonse the perfect fishing holiday with the family.

Prior to your trip, you will be provided with a comprehensive list of recommended equipment, clothing, and accessories. There is a fully equipped fly shop that offers most of the tackle you’ll need, including a wide variety of custom-tied flies specifically designed for Alphonse Island using the appropriate hooks and materials. The shop also offers rental services for 9, 10, and 12-weight fly rods.

The fishing outfits provided consist of top-quality fly rods and Shilton SL series reels, equipped with 300 yards of braided backing. Please note that fly lines are not provided and must be brought by the angler or purchased on-site.
